About the author – a young working adult who is pursuing a career of Dog Grooming, and competing on the South West Trillium circuit.

The Horses:

Wedgewood “Gracie

A 6 year old dapple grey ottb mare, standing 16.2h. She raced at Woodbine as Dragon Wave and I purchased her September 2014 after she had been retired for a year. After a month of starting her new career as a riding horse she sustained a pasture injury that required a few months stall rest. She was restarted again in January 2015, and showing by May 2015 in the 2’9 hunters for her first show season as a green horse.

Outlander “Riley

A 6 year old dark bay standardbred x gelding standing 16h, a.k.a a mutt! This horse came into my life summer of 2014. He had a terrible work ethic – stopping dead, spinning, very inconsistent – and I starting riding him just to try and get him into regular work. With LOTS of patience, and a lot of trial and error, Riley had a eureka moment and successfully showed in 2015 the 2’9 hunters by mid-season for his first green year.
